About Me

Enjoying a hike at Lanikai Pillboxes hike in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii.

My name is Jill and I’m a Chicago native who lives in Honolulu, Hawaii.

In 2012, not long after graduating college, a friend gave me a buddy pass so I could travel the world for nearly free. After living out of backpack throughout my 20s and traveling around the country and around the globe, I’ve discovered that I’m in love with luscious life and everything it has to offer.

My blog is a collection of experiences since I left my home Chicago to live in Philadelphia in 2010, and consequently, places like Australia, the Big Island of Hawaii, Wyoming, Denver, Southern California, and more. You’ll find musings on things I love the most: Adventures, Food, Drink, Budget Travel, Off-the-beaten-path experiences, and the world’s natural beauty.

I work as a marketing professional in Hawaii, my favorite place on Earth, and I am a freelance travel writer and full-time dreamer. Feel free to message me if you would like to know more about me and my story. I’m an open book.

  1. I’m so glad I stumbled upon your website. The reviews of WorkaWay versus Help-X were so valuable, especially since I was planning to sign up with WorkaWay today but their website has been down all day. Your resources are terrific and I will be contacting you to have you help me promote my travel site for older women traveling solo, once I get some travel under my belt, so to speak. This has been my dream since I was a child and lived abroad for a year. Now in my retirement I can live this dream for as long as I choose.
